    LNMGang watches Cry of the Werewolf

    We were having a weird night, and for some reason I wasn't as finger happy on the ol' screenshots as usual, but still have a couple overlapping. I felt like the AIs (Caprica and Zoe) had it in for us, but you never can tell with those two.

    I honestly thought there would be more real animal scenes in this movie based on this opening sequence.

    Werewolves also get to bite people. I think I'd like that.

    This guy in this shot reminds me so much of Walter Peck in the first Ghostbusters movie.

    Caprica sucking up after missing the question on the test...

    Consuela is also a really pretty designer bags and totes site in case you're needing a new purse. Not being paid to link that.

    Science Cops #greatbandnames

    See? Zoe didn't even answer me. She was pouting.

    Can you imagine being able to haunt a door? I would love that.

    I didn't mention to anyone that @bonenado made a voodoo doll one year to torture a guy on his fantasy baseball team, and it really did rattle him. The stories are hilarious.

    I have never fixed that movie link myself. I really should step up a little more. I'm terribly lazy on movie nights.

    I'm not even a very good administrative assistant. I should endeavor harder.

    I could give op to people, stuff like that.

    The cat was the best actor in the entire movie.

    Science cops and their kids, new show idea.

    Kurt is talking about this song. Here is their site.

    Kurt knows so much stuff, he's like an alt Lisa... hm, just noticed that. Wonder if they're twins or something.

    I, on the other hand, own an almost complete Jacky Chan collection. I have most of the old stuff from video stores going out of business.

    Werechickens should be a thing.

    This movie didn't do girl fights right.

    I could be inviting like that as a haunted door. I think I have what it takes.

    Bob. Srsly, never heard it said that way before.

    No one got my Eunichorn thing. We were all floating on our own moments, sharing spacetime in a weird nondimensional ethereal way.

    It just hit me that a dentist would be a werewolf's worst nightmare.

    Love never conquers all.

    I know right, you'd think there'd be better scenes to go along with our chat, but the cops are just standing around looking confused here.

    lol, right, what happened to the cat...

    LNMGang watches This Island Earth

    Note: On my last pinky blog I had a tag for #latenightmovie (those are also pinned), but there is also a thread I started awhile back on syfydesigns. I'll keep pinning, but also add the tag LNMGang on this pinky blog to match the name of our twitter group that is run by Lisa Marie Bowman, and I'll copy paste these posts to the syfydesigns thread. This is about as organized as I get. Only took me 5 1/2 years to develop this system. Since I wind up with overages on my finger-happy screenshotting, it might get weird sometimes. I might have tried to go back and get a particular movie shot for some reason, which would make the chat look out of order. I get dizzy enough sizing all these down to 800, which seems to work well across lappy and mobile between blogger and syfydesigns since this is getting pasted. I do get readers on humongous gaming screens, thank you for how fun that looks in my stats and apologies if it's hard to read that way. One day interface will be easier, if our world grids don't go down over something stupid first.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On to the show! Got it down to 35 screenshots, lol.
    Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
    Copied over from #pinkyblog. the Santa gets abducted by Martians mooby
    Before Tim Allen ever threw Santa off a roof, long before Elf helped Santa rig a jet engine back onto a sleigh, Santa apparently went to Mars. Pretty sure Elon Musk's parents were inspired by this movie as children, pushing him to be just like little Billy and go to Mars, too.
    North Pole HQ looks different in every single Santa movie. This one looks ominously like the one in the Scrooged promos showing Lee Majors saving Santa years later during a missile attack.
    We never did find out what that Martian headgear was about. That still bugs me, along with a very confusing plotline based on an even more confusing motivation. I think that's because I'm used to space shows being a bit more logicky nowadays. I want to slam this one by its lapels against a wall and ask how in the world they figured out their children were lacking happiness?
    We are ALL still children on the inside. You know it's true, syfy400. I won't reveal your secret identity.
    I'm not good at Martian linguistics and proper naming.
    You know how Daryl had to listen to Easy Street over and over? I think Kim Jong needs to see this movie a few times.
    There's like a plot and a subplot behind the entire Santa abduction. Nowadays we'd get up to the minute tweets about staff changes during production, which everyone knows alters the whole atmosphere of a movie, so I can't help wondering if the start and the end are cobbled together in the middle after a long horrible night full of cigarettes and coffee around a writers' table.
    The Martians didn't seem to know how to properly abduct (oddly grazing taboo all around, as it were), and probably only succeeded because children were so terribly polite back then. The only thing missing was candy and 'wanna see my puppies?' The brief gun pointing didn't frighten them at all. Were they brave? Bad actors? Cognizant of the script saying something about a gun? Did anyone know what was going on???
    It's up to Billy and Betty to carry the story now!
    I know right, how many of these did I get this time. Wow, really went to town on that screenshot button. By the way, in case you haven't been paying attention on the medias, Sophia has been granted full citizenship in Saudi Arabia. Inside the mechanical brain of the world’s first robot citizen
    In case you don't know there reference, here you go. Rub Some Bacon On It
    I have no idea what I said. Missed getting a screenshot, lol.
    Has anyone ever cosplayed one of these guys at a con? Because that would be hilarious.
    I honestly don't even have a clue at this point. It was like some random person came by and picked up a camera while everyone was on break.
    I mean, Martians turning on each other, it was a madhouse.
    There is an actual Klinger Controversy about Jamie Farr really being in this film or not, in case that eats you up inside.
    Santa is pretty devious, it turns out.
    Aaaand that is forever burned into my brain now...
    Not of this Earth (1957)
    Right after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, movie gang watched Not of this Earth (1957).
    By this time we were adapting to a new chat room (IRC), and it seems to be a hit with people who knew the old chat room.
    Pix are sized for loading convenience, links to full size are available at the top of each pic if you need bigger to see better.
    Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster
    We watched this movie on the last weekend before Thanksgiving, Nov. 19. I was having issues with photobucket, but I can work with it now, so here we go!
    I saved 2 sizes on these pix. I'm using 800 pixels here for loading convenience, but there is a separate URL for each one if you want to see it better or want to save one in particular for a weird wallpaper or something. I think I originally meant to pick out the best of these, but it's been awhile, here's all of them. The editor is throwing fits about my paragraph spacing and insisting on pairing up the links with the next pix down, but I think you guys can figure out what's what.
    Pasting this over from Pinky blog.
    last week's movie gang chat room watch
    I'm giving up on photobucket this week and using Pinky blog to host these pix for SyfyDesigns so I can copy-paste this over.
    Last weekend we got movie gang together again so we can compare chat rooms. Myke has recently done a major upgrade on SyfyDesigns (plz note it's been around for 10 YEARS and is a registered domain *applause*), so Myke is very serious about this chat room testing stuff. I'm arguing with him about ease of use over cost efficiency and control over security features, but it's ultimately up to the chat room users what you guys prefer- what is easiest to use across devices, etc. There are pros and cons galore, and we may be testing both chat rooms simultaneously LIVE every time we host a linked movie gang watch through the winter. More info HERE.
    As promised, I got screen shots from last week's watch party, and this will be my test to see if SyfyDesigns still limits to 10 media loads per frame.
    Our watch parties are a riot.
    Due to differing time zones, holidays, work schedules, family time, and health needs, not all of us can get together when we want to as often as we want to. Our group loves this decompression time together, as you can imagine, and we've all been sad lately not having it to touch base.
    Please emblazen this into your brains- THE CHAT ROOMS ARE OPEN ALL THE TIME. If you can't get into a chat room, grab @ekym and TELL HIM.
    The goals Myke has for SyfyDesigns are simple-
    • Hipster galaxy coffee shop for scifi fans & tech nerds, etc
    • Dive bar for spaceship crews needing hang outs together
    SyfyDesigns is created by a big nerdy fan FOR FANS. The reason it has restricted registration is so Myke can hold the spambot attacks down, and believe me, they can get nuts, hundreds a day. Registration allows our content to stay clean from internet VD.
    If you would like to register, we would love to have more writers. A number of us are big comics, TV show, movie, and gaming fans, plus there is room in the forum for all kinds of other interests, like pets, hobbies, tech support ideas and questions, just an easy place to hang out.
    I have been using SyfyDesigns as a traffic driver to my writing in other places, and am lately appreciating that I can transfer archive materials for backup safekeeping.
    If you love writing, whether it's reviews (both recap and speculative) or your own fiction ideas or simply want or need a place to share without having to maintain your own site, SyfyDesigns is a great place to play and share. It's well seen and provides supplement link support back to your own projects.
    Disclaimer notice- SyfyDesigns is currently a not for profit site and content is not paid for. Submitted content is the property of the creator, and if SyfyDesigns must be held responsible for its content, then that content could be removed if it crosses lines of reasonable respect and courtesy into racial, sexual, religious, or political tension. SyfyDesigns is about fans finding welcome and camaraderie, not winning arguments. Rants, instigatory poking, and mocking at others' expense could mean being banned.
    This also applies to using the chat room during movie watches to rally block parties on other social media. This. will. get. you. banned. The chat room movie watches are for movie watches, not hate rallies.
    All these things will be posted in appropriate places on SyfyDesigns soon. Takes time.
    Sorry so long and not posting much, but in the words of all old movie fans- it's aliiiiiive.
    After a hiatus, we've been test driving and comparing chat rooms. I got some screenshots from this last weekend, Whenever photobucket gets back to me about login issues (another code tweak on their side, 12 hours of my patience is kinda gone), I'll let them speak for themselves and you can see what you missed.
    In the meantime, we are going to be conducting another SyfyDesigns Destress Test, or SFDDT, lol. Maybe a DDT for short. This DDT (I know, doesn't make sense, just roll with my silliness) will be Saturday the 19th of November at 5pmEastern / 4pmCentral. I think Myke still has both chat rooms available, and you guys are welcome to pop in and try them out, make sure you can get in before movie time.
    Twitter/Facebook login chat
    -or-
    IRC chat
    We will be watching (courtesy Captain Kurt, I asked him to pick this weekend's movie and time)
    Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgxhEq8w9xw
    We may be doing chatroom testing for a few weekends to give Myke time to play with controls and tweak and give everyone else time to see how the chatrooms work out on our pcs, laptops, tablets, phones, and/or other devices. We're still kind of disorganized, but you guys know you don't have to wait for us, you can grab a few friends and head into a chatroom any time we don't have it scheduled, ok? The more we play with them, the better. Just keep it pointy and it'll all be ok.
    So on 7-3-15 we watched #FridayNightFlix, S01E23 The Testament Of Arkadia, and I got a couple fun screen snips of the chat/movie combo on my monitor that I'm using for rotating wallpapers. They are big and won't fit here, if you want to see them, click them, and you can download the big ones with a right click if you want a souvenir.
    By the way, we're all pretty bad. Iz a gang thing.
    This is me & Kurt irl in chat. We were inspired by the movie to spread our seeds. Ok, he's doing sunflowers. I'll probably stick with bulbs. Birds and bees, people. Arkadia. It's a miracle. With skeletons. Ok, necrophilia is the word I was trying to think of in chat, guys. NOW it hits me. Anyway, you can't go wrong with mustaches and stretchy form fitting polyester uniforms.
    We had over 12 people in attendance for last night's (12-28-2013) viewing #Latenightmovie "The screaming Skull". This old Sci-Fi horror classic was not for the faint at heart, we were all warned in the opening credits about the fear factor and potential for mass cardiac arrest. As a courtesy, the movie creators promised free burial plots at the local cemetery, I don't believe any were required?
