Yesterday, someone managed to hack several verified accounts on twitter. Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Michael Bloomberg, Elon Musk, Uber, and many more ..... they were all hacked. One tweet was sent out by every account, asking people to send money and promising to send money back in return. It was an obvious scam and yet....

People sent money!

Apparently, before twitter realized what was happening and pulled down all of the offending tweets, close to a million dollars had been sent.

That just amazes me. I mean, I get that some people are desperate right now. I get that everyone wants money. But it was such an obvious scam! Did they really think that Joe Biden -- in the middle of his presidential campaign -- was suddenly going to start sending his cash to random people on twitter? Did they really think that Barack Obama was really going to give them some of his Netflix cash? Or Elon Musk? Or Bill Gates!?

How dumb are people?

For the record, I'm not generous at all so if you ever see a tweet from me offering to send you cash, assume I've been hacked.
