It's been a strange day. This morning, thousands of Americans woke up to the news that two actresses, Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, had been charged with paying bribes and falsifying test scores in order to get their children into college. Actually, 48 people have been charged with the crime. It's just Loughlin and Huffman have to two most recognizable names so most of the initial reporting has focused on them. Felicity Huffman was actually arrested. Lori Loughlin, when last I checked, was flying back to Los Angeles where she'll presumably turn herself in.

Not surprisingly, there's a lot of twitter outrage about this. But you know what? I would have done the same thing. Someday, when I have children, I'll probably do whatever I have to in order to make sure that they attend a good school. After all, I'll want them to be able to get good jobs and pay their own bills so that I won't have to. Anyone who says that they wouldn't do the same is either lying or they're a bad parent.

So, I say -- good for them! Free Lori! Free Felicity!

Being a good parent should not be a crime.
