Our flight was good, the landing was a little ruff and noisy and there was turbulence on and off again throughout the flight but we landed safely and without incident. The seat was hard as a rock and I was pretty tiered of sitting by the end of the 2 and half hour ride. Kathy woke me up from a sound sleep to ask me for a magazine, then I couldn't fall back asleep for the rest of the flight, glad it was a short one.
We took a short shuttle ride to pick up our rental car, a new Chevy Impala and we set off looking for our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Miami Doral. It's not as nice as the Crown we stayed in back in Chicago, but it will do. They dont have any lounge so we went for a quick ride up the road and found a nice place called Tony Roma's and ate. Rachael had rib's Kathy had fillet's and I had one of the best New York strip steaks I have had in awhile. Our waitress was fast and nice, everything was good.
Miami is hot, and the weather is dry so far, though I heard a rumor of rain somewhere? The internet here at the Holiday Inn says its complimentary but somehow the boingo thing was required to login to it, Guess it was worth the $10 I paid?? Who knows...
It's almost 10:00 PM now and I am heading to bed soon, The colts are beating the Ravens on the TV, and tomorrow we will be hooking up with the rest of the group to watch the Cowboys and Vikings game. We should be moving hotels some time before noon and that place, I'm guessing will be nicer then this one? It's been dark since we arrived in Miami so I have not had many opportunities to take any photo's, I will get some photo's tomorrow for sure and upload some just in case someone is reading this, who knows because nobody ever comments and sends emails to let me know.
