I was just reading about Archie Battersbee, a 12 year-old in the UK who was on life support. His parents wanted to keep him alive. The government decided there was no chance that Archie would ever improve so it decided to kill him. They even denied his parents the right to move him to hospice care, saying that would cause Archie's condition to further deteriorate. But what type of logic is that? Why should the government care if he's going to get worse if they're just going to kill him anyways?
Stories like this remind me of why I distrust the idea of big government and the people who advocated for it.
